A mountain lake called “Lac Blanc” had been on my must-see list for a very long time and now I was finally there to see and photograph it. It took us two days to hike from our home base to the lake. Our route was part of the “Tour Du Mont Blanc”, a 170km trail with more than 10.000 meters of elevation. That will be for another trip.
We arrived at the lake very late at night. it was pitch black and we could only see a few meters ahead of us with our headlamps on. It was a pretty tough hike, but the reward at the end was unbelievable. A clear sky, stars reflecting on the lake and an endless mountain range in the distance. We spent the night at this mountain lake and woke up to the most dramatic sunrise we’ve ever seen. The sky was colored all purple and the longer we stared at it, the more sun rays started showing up behind the mountains.
